JUNIOR COACHING
The Big Hit Tennis Academy has been running continuous coaching courses since 2010.
Having started with just 3 classes and approx 35 junior members taking part in early 2010 we currently now have upwards of 150-170 members now attending weekly. These Juniors, and their Families are now very much the beating heart of this small successful club.
The Coaching program
These classes run during the school year from September until mid June at Arklow Lawn Tennis Club.
The Junior Coaching Program generally commences in the second week in September each year.
Its approx a 28 - 30 week long course run over a 34 week period from September until early June ( allowing for approx 4- 6 weeks of weather postponements )
The Course is roughly broken into 3 terms
Term 1 10 Weeks Cost € 85
Term 2 10 Weeks Cost € 85
Term 3 10 Weeks Cost € 85
All Juniors attending the lessons must be members of Arklow Tennis Club with a caveat for newcomers who are allowed to do one term of lessons before being required to join the club. There are currently 160 junior members attending the program and places are limited. To express an interest in joining please text David on 0878166525 ( and perhaps mention what days your child/children may or may not be available
In 2025 we will run two 4 day Easter Camps 10-1 pm for 7-13 year olds 1.30 - 4pm 13-18 year olds
and 6-7 weeks of Summer camps from early July til mid Aug
Camps are broken into general camps 1st class primary - 2nd year secondary and then Teenage specific camps for Juniors from 1st year secondary to 6th year secondary
Discount for families with 3 or more children in the program
Many families have two children in lessons and the cost is the same as above, for both children.
We do however have a discounted price for families with 3 or more children ( same parent ) in the program.
Cost for the 3rd and subsequent child in the 10 week program, same parent is €60
Limited Places
Places are limited. Priority is given to kids from the preceding term. Please text David (0878166525) to express an interest in lessons for a particular day.
We presently have classes scheduled for Mon Tues Wed Fri afternoons ( roughly 4-7pm , 4-5pm for the younger age groups and 6-7pm being generally the teenage classes ) and Saturday Mornings 9.30 am - 2pm again broadly with the younger children in the earlier classes and the older children in the late classes. All classes are 1 hour in duration. We may if numbers permit try to run an overflow day on Thursday afternoons

- their current class grouping in school, eg 1st, 3rd or 5th class for example
- The national or Secondary school at which they attend
- Your preferred day and time for coaching
- As there is no guarantee coaching will be available on the day of your choice, please also text your child's second or even third day and time preference.
